Rory, How does it run when you have the rear wheels blocked up off the ground ?
With the wheels off the ground, how does it run when you slowly open the throttle ? Same thing, only what happens when you hold the engine at 7,000 RPM ? Same thing, only what happens when you slam the throttle wide open ? If the engine will run OK with the wheels off the ground at about 7,000 RPM but will not rev up from idle, most likely you have your idle jets set to lean. Make sure your plugs have the correct gap. Check your float levels. You should set you engine to idle at about 3,000 RPM, have the clutch come in at about 5,000. You should be able to slam the throttle to the floor and have the engine just jump up to the red line. If you cant do this with the wheels off the ground, the car will not respond on the track.
