Dave, I've been road racing kart for a while, set a couple of lap records and
won my share of races, and yes on all but the longest tracks, the 125's should
be faster.
What I was reffering as far as karters is the younger 100cc guys, and maybe
even 4 cycle karts. These karts have much less hp than the shifters, but still
require the same skill level.. Didn't we discuss this not too long ago???
And Dave, the reason none of the shifter guys consider F500, is because,
there's no shifter!!!
Again, if the F500 were the cross over class from karting, then I think some
of the shifter guys might consider it.

Good point, Dave. At our local Northern California track, Thundhill (15
turns, 3 miles), the F500 lap record is a 1:53; same as the track's 125cc
shifter lap record and slower than the 250cc shifter record of 1:48. Stan

and about 4 who roadrace with them and none of these
drivers look at a F500 car as any kind of step
up, in fact they all feel it would be a step backward
in terms of speed and skills required.
