Easy answer... they can't afford to. Ask Don Clar, or Mike Quadrini or
Don Hanley how much they make off every car they build. The answer is
probably 'not enough to make it worth the time to build a car'. These
guys do it 'cause they love the class, not because they are making any
real money at it. For all of these guys building F500s is just a
sideline to their "real" businesses.

That's because only two F500 manufacturers have web sites to link to.

Dolphin Motorsports already runs half page ads in some of the karting
magazines advertising their F500 rentals. Very nice, very professional,
full color pieces, with a good picture of one of their cars. I'm sure
these ads cost them plenty. Last I heard they aren't exactly getting
their door beaten down by kart guys who want to race F500. There might
be some good lessons to learn here... just 'cause you advertise doesn't
mean they'll come.

Believe me Lou, I have talked to every single manufacturer over the
years about advertising. Reality is that they don't have web sites to
link to and they don't have budgets to advertise or build web sites.

I quit pleading for people to help with content long ago. You can count
the number of items on the web site that were not authored by yours
truly on one hand. If people contribute articles, news items, links,
anything.... then they'll be published on the site.

Now.... all that said.... there is a new development as far as
advertising and exposure that I've been quietly working on in the
background. Expect an announcement on the f500.org web site the next
couple days!
