John/List, blown gasket was the first thing I thought of, so I did a cold compression check and came up with 140 psi on each cylinder. I was very happy with those readings, since that is what I came up with 3 years ago. My old cap doesnt have a rubber seal where the top of the cap touches the rim of the filler neck. I have never seen a radiator cap without a rubber seal in this location. The cap does have rubber where the lower, spring loaded part seals with the bottom of the filler neck. I tried to put a 13 lb cap off one of my cars on it, but it wouldnt fit. I am almost wondering if someone modified the filler neck to fit this weird cap with no rubber on it? If any Red Devil folks out there know, please school me. I might try to call Don Hanley on Monday, but have had horrible luck with getting any info from him. He doesnt remember how he built these cars 20 years ago and doesnt have any archived specs. Bill Schmidt 88 Red Devil with stupid rad cap
