"contacting the TV crew" is (or was at M-O) fairly easy. I went last
year to assure they could (would?) pronounce a Formula Mazda driver's
name correctly. I have been helping him for a while.

I went to the TV booth, which was across from the T&S tower at MO.
Knocked on the door and it was Greg Cramer (sp?) and another announcer
(don't remember who). They talked to me for a few minutes, and was
happy to have me stop by. Now, this was NOT during the races when they
are trying to do live-to-tape broadcasts, but was during a break during
the race day.

I won't likely be at the Runoffs this year, so I'm NOT volunteering.
Just need someone to do a little bit of legwork and find the right
people. They would be HAPPY to have REAL information on our class
instead of ad-libbing their way through with what they may or may not
know.

Phil

Subject: [F500] A Positive PR Idea for an Action Plan

With the Runoffs coming up and how historically the commentators have
screwed up the description of our class, I would like to propose that we
put
together a printed list of "talking points" about our class. Once we
have gathered
them together, then we select a person to be the class rep who will
then
contact the TV crew and review the list with them. The goal being that
the
commentators will really hit the nail on the head when they talk about
our cars
during our race. Hopefully, this will make our class a little bit more

attractive to the racing public.
I hope that this is helpful.

Jim
