I've had this happen before (Where you see the lines in the tire and the
rubber seems to roll away from them). Talked to Hoosier about it and
basically its what Phil said, just has something to do with the curing
process but that it shouldn't affect the tire or its performance at all.
I'd have to agree with them because I never noticed a real difference
between tires when I ran it.

I know Tom Buckman had 1 come apart at the Oscoda
Cendiv event.
Looked like you cut about 6-8 grooves around the
tire and then rolled the rubber up like the worst
graining you ever saw.
I had 1 start to do it, demounted the tire and flipped
it. It's been ok since...weird. Looks like it's been spun
and scribed with a razor blade has several totally straight
grooves around it. At solo speeds I just check it after
each run.....so far so good.
