In combined sessions there should be no 'hold' between the classes.
Runoff's 93 - F440 was combined with DSR....F440's were held about 20
seconds after the last DSR left the false grid....as the middle of the F440
field was entering the track the first of the DSR's were entering Turn 1 at
speed. Fortunately, for the second combined session during that Runoff's
the F440's were allowed to follow the DSR's right out and everyone got on
track before the first cars of the group completed the first lap.

With 63 cars to get on track in a combined FF/F500 session getting everyone
on track could be a problem, even with no hold between classes.

I agree with the "serious FF contender" and believe you should consider
opening your social (or at least a few minutes of it) to the FF folks to
obtain the much-needed consensus.

However, I also believe you should have a contingency approach in case your
appeal is denied: I would suggest a split start with the Fords going out
about a third to a half lap sooner. I realize the F5 front runners are
frequently faster than many of the Fords but, the reverse is also true. The
bulk of the Fords will be quicker than the bulk of the F5's. If that
doesn't convince you, the weight of the car should. I've hit a Ford before
and I can assure you, they are not that easy to move.

Remember, in qualifying, NO ONE can tell you when, within the session time,
you must enter or exit the track and you can do so as much as you please.
All I am suggesting is that whomever is at the front of the F5's wait until
all of the Fords have a chance to get on the track. If you spread yourself
out far enough, you will maximize your chances of getting a "clean track" or
at least minimize the passing.

All the best to all of you who are competing and, for Heaven's sake, HAVE
FUN!
