I think that there is a lot of mis-understanding about the proposed longer pucks. It is not about getting more travel it is about getting a longer linear range & less significant changing of the rates near the end of travel.
This was not intended to just put the longer pucks in & you are done. It would nessitate the design of new rockers & would simplify the design of the spring cans. The purpose of this proposal was to make it easier to get decent wheel rates. Another point is that you do not have to run 3 inch long pucks you can use any length UP TO 3 inches. Change is not necessary at all if what you have works. After the Runoffs I will post actual data on the F500 site for all to look at & you will see that it will be much easier to get controlable wheel rates. Our current car compresses the puck betwenn 2 FLAT plates. No tapered recievers, compression plates or cans at all. In any case we are moving on from F500 after this season & my goal was to try to help F500. Thanks ...
