Copies of those graphs are now available here (in case the original link

Subject: Re: [F500] Runoff Engines

As I was browsing the web last night, I happened on a snowmobile site
that
had dyno tests on a 98 494, and a 02 493. Just as I have always
suspected, the
493 makes LESS peak power then the 494. Not a huge difference, About 2
HP
and 2 ft LB's torque. But at least enough to call the motors Equal! OK,
I know, the 98,494 did have RAVE, but as everybody knows, RAVE helps
lower rpm transition, after 5500 the valves are wide open anyway. And
lets not
forget, in 02 the 493 had the big 40 mm carbs, and the evil balance
tube, and
still made less HP!
I tried to post the pictures on the f500 photos section, but no luck.
Anybody that can post pictures, I will be glad to send them so you might
get them
up for all to see. Remember folks, this is a snowmobile testing site
whom I
bet has no idea there is such a thing as F500 cars. ( in other words,
they
don't have a dog in this fight).

If this is not enough to get rid of the 50 pounds, I don't know what
