Powder-coat is nothing more than paint in dry form. Depending and what flavor of powder-coat you use, you can use the appropriate stripper. They use urethanes as well as epoxies, the only difference is the method of applying them. Steve, if the media is embedding itself to the steel, you have bigger problems. They generally use "Black Beauty" that's the standard for sandblasting ferrous metals and should leave the material white after blasting. This is the best possible surface for welding and painting. Walnut, plastic, or anything softer, wont "frost' the metal well enough for paint to bond to. It's kind of tough to DA a chassis!!! If the stuff is stuck anywhere, it's either porous, meaning it needs to be cut out and repaired, or soft as in rusted. CR
