Well, In a way I stand somewhat corrected. Earlier this year there was a
member advisory suggesting that "only SFI rated devices should be purchased"
and said that come the year that non-SFI rated devices would not be approved.
This also said any devices that attach to the harnesses would not be
acceptable. (NO Hutchins, no ISAAC).

When I look in the 2007 GCR, I can't
find any of this language, so somehow it is apparently not finalized. It
still just says "head and neck restraints are suggested" or something to that
effect. (p 76).

I like the ISSAC, but i don't like three latches to hit to
get out of a burning car. I just want to do one to get out of the belts and
be on my way. If they could figure out a better way to get out of the thing,
it would be good. For that matter, I think HANS should buy ISAAC just to get
the damper system and put it into the HANS or R3 designs...

head and neck restraint!

Is there a list of what is legal in SCCA ? My
understanding is that SCCA
rejected the SFI standard.

I've been looking at
the ISAAC Device. It surpasses the Hans in the tests,
but because of the 2
release points it won't get the SFI sticker.
