Joe, good question...  I know the end that attaches to the vehicle locks down, 
not sure about the end near the carbon top does...
   That's one down side to a non counterbalanced 2 stroke, lots of 
vibration....  The 250cc singles in the superkarts, would crack frames just 
from the motor vibration, being a track side welder, it didn't hurt business...
