With the HANS,  I gotta have the helmet on before getting in the cockpit.  Too, 
too tight.  Heck of a time w/the belts, too.  Thankfully, our radio usually 
works so I can get big chief Marilyn to u-turn on her scooter when the gloves 
get left on the sidepod.

Your mileage will definitely vary.  I recommend that you practice and find the 
order that works for you.  Then make it a procedure, habit or whatever you want 
to call it.  

Especially if you've no crew.
