OK Steve. I have several quotes for pipes. Lowest cost is $260 for right
side headers from S&S headers who make tons of bike pipes. Highest is $585
for a complete unit fabbed for my car from FTZ Performance, they make pipes
for Mini Sprints.

I spoke to George Dean because he is doing the wireing harness for the F1000
car conversion kit I am doing. He is very knowlegable & a very straight
shooter. I AM NOT SHOPPING AN ENGINE TUNER. The engine will be BONE STOCK
except for the headers & the oil pan baffles.

I do not know where you heard that I have played around with ceramic
bearings, I guarantee you that has never happened. I have looked for
bearings that did not leak for our 1st transfer case 2 years ago & I talked
to several companies around the US about special bearing seals, but I never
saw, touched or purchased any ceramic bearing in my life. The bearing
solution was to order the right bearing with the right seal from Bearing
Service for about $20 each. If you think we are fast in a straight line
because of ceramic bearings you are fooling yourself. That is another
really good rumor about our mega$$$ F500 cars, I love it.

We built the 2 Rakavons we have over a 2 year time period for a total of
about $10,000 in parts & materials & about 4000 hours of Brian's, Don
Hamilton's & my labor. I build my own cars because I love to build & then I
can afford what I want.

This 600 engine project is for my personal use. I do not sell cars anymore.
If you want a NovaKar then call Don Clar. Brian is moving on to F1000 but I
am going to race in F500 as it is what I can afford. Yes, I wanted to do
DSR but the $$ for me to do that are not there.

Gee you sound really pissed. This is my money & my time & if I fail then no
one is hurt except me.

PS: our 1st Rakavon is still for sale but we will be racing it this season &
it can be had after the Runoffs bearings & all.

Thanks ... Jay Novak

Subject: [F500] Jay's Cost Breakdown, Considerations & Car Builders & BS

Jay, you quoted George Dean-But You still failed to mention PIPE COST. You
didn't and won't because you know that this cost kills your Econo Friendly
600 argument. Check it out and publish it compared to an f500 pipe- I dare
you!
AND_If you are already shopping tuners, what does that say about keeping
them stock?
Jay, you state that mini Sprint guys dont have problems keeping things
legal. Have you been to one of these events? Cheating is everywhere.
Rebuild Sources-if your so convinced, please tell us names where we could
get new pistons, rings bearing valves etc for 1500. Where is the Labor cost
accounted for in your proposition?
Texas is huge but not so big that word doesn't travel when you try and
source parts for you last runoffs power delivery through a shop in Plano.
You know what I am talking about and most people here have cars that cost
less than any product of their product line. Your sought procurement had
Nothing to do with "intended" class rules. You also have played around with
the ceramic bearing ideas that would give you a several thousand dollar cost
increase and a several mile per hour advantage.
I find it amazing that you stated on the DSR board that you would be out of
F5 as soon as you sold your final two cars and that you would be moving
solely to DSR, yet you dwell in the land of us lowley two strokers. If M/C
power is where your heart is then go to DSR sir, please . Stick Brian in
that DSR you built with 1000cc and see how you fare against the other. You
may be drinking your own medicine then and getting spanked by Lee.

And I suggest that you dont suggest to the rest of us " let this play out to
see what happens." Most of us are not idle dwellers and are entitled to our
firery opinions.
We are just as passionate as you and we aren't trying to revive "Our" car
sales.
