I don't respond too often mainly due to having to deal with the amount of
ignorance that flys around on this list, but on this I have to say something!
As far as people having rights to their opinions, you are correct about every
ones opinion matters so here goes. Art, Jay is not trying to take business away
from the northern guys selling clutch set-ups, he is simply trying to make the
class survive its national status so you'll be able to continue screwing with
these clutches for the next 50 years!(smile) In my OPINION this is the best way
to go. As far as you (Art) saying you would prefer that he looks for another
venue. WAKE UP, THATS WHAT PEOPLE ARE AND HAVE BEEN DOING!!!!! Why do you think
we are on the verge of loosing our national status? That's why you and the
other narrow minded people in this class will go down with the ship unless you
improvise. No-one is trying to make the current f500s a thing of the past but,
only trying to revive the dead (at this point
anyways). Let someone else take a shot in this class succeeding. After all,
the last time someone thought of the "class saving engine" brought into this
class due to "494 parts surplus being low", it FAILED as I cant find a used 493
motor for a reasonable price much less a NEW ONE at all ( besides ordering 15
at a time). However , I have been offerd 7 complete non-rave 494 motors at a
very resonable price. If thats not a good example of acting on things before
thinking about them then I dont know what is. Here Jay is finding motors and
better yet sources for NEW motors and going through the steps to SUCCED at his
venture and all people can do is critisize him. Now for my second OPINION, if
you race in solo take a shut-up pill as the solo community has an easier time
and the ultimate control over their rules, if you don't want the bike engine in
solo THEN DON'T USE IT, VETO IT!!!!! As for the cyber mouses that spend more
months out of the year behind their desks than they
do race weekends at the track or doesn't even road race period, please take
the prescribed medicine above AS NEEDED!! Point is, unless you have a better
idea at making this class survive NATIONALLY not just REGIONALLY or have
encouraging advise please, seek life elsewhere on this subject. As you've seen,
two stroke cvt based cars in f500 road racing is not popular anymore, this is
backed up by the class participation. My last OPINION is, if you think simply
finding another two stroke motor is in fact the key to the survival of this
class, DO LIKE JAY, X1 RACING AND CHRIS R HAS DONE - PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE THE
OBVIOUSLY BIG HOLE THAT IT LOCATED ON YOUR SHOULDERS IS AND DO IT!!!!!
Thanks Wiley (squirrel) McMahan
