I have been meaning to post on this issue for a couple of weeks now, but have been very busy with my Dad's funeral stuff. I have been keeping close communication with the local Fsae boys and have some enlightening info. They are taking a 115 to 120hp Honda motor and strangling it down with a single inlet restrictor (metric) that is roughly the size of a nickel. They are claiming 80 to 81 hp on the dyno. They attach a cv joint jack shaft where the countershaft sprocket would normally mount and run it straight over to the dyno. Now, they are allowed big compression, big valves, big cams and allowed to play with FI stuff. I bet our "no internal mods" engine would be around 75hp to 80 hp. I dont think that anyone has to worry about our possible future "crotch rocket" engine being an overkill and screwing up the class. If someone wants to cross post this to eformula, that is fine.
