Chuck made an excellent report. Here is some more of the rest of the story:
Saturday morning - Clint came into the pits early with the left rear hub slid
over against the body work. Dan did his usual superman work, jacked it up and
fixed the hub back where it belonged. Tried to start the 493 (out of used
snowmobile) and it was locked up. After spending the next several hours
swapping the motor with an old down on power motor, later (after the race) tore
the bad motor down to the crank and found one bad bearing. Barely made it in
time for the race. During the race Clint and Jim Elder entered turn one side by
side and literally touched wheels (no marks anywhere else on either car) and
since Jim's was the outside car, he slid off the track.

Sunday morning - Greg Riehle was driving real slow with a bad motor on the far
left side of turn 2 when Clint came up on him, Clint went to the far right side
of the track to clear Greg but Greg turned right and hit Clint in the left rear
wheel, bending the axle in three places. Greg said that he never saw Clint. We
took the axle to Formula Cars East trailer where they very graciously allowed
us the use of their shop press to spend the next hour straightening the axle to
the best of our eyesight and straight edge - no dial indicator unfortunately.
Again, we got it ready just barely in time for the race. Clint said that it
vibrated but he could still focus and it did not upset the car - wow!!!
Tom Hastings in the red car with no brake pedal went fast in the straights and
long curves but slowed way down to make it through the few braking areas that
Roebling Road has. He was on a big right hand sweeper at the end of the race
when a passing FF slid left and ran over Tom's right front knocking Tom off the
track. The right front side pod is wiped out and there is a big tire mark
across the top of the nose.

As usual, Dan McMahan has again done a superman job preparing the cars and
keeping them running during the event. Sunday night he was wiped out.
