Hi folks, I am new to the f500 world and am starting out slow and hope
to last a long time. I've done many different forms of racing over the years
(motocross, drags, dirt and asphault circle stock cars and sprint cars) and
always built my own cars and drove them myself. I hope SCCA to be my best
effort.
I've been reading past and present articles from the f500 archieves,
have talked to several people, looked at many different kinds of cars and
feel the f500 is the class for me. Plus - no more rained out races!
I recently bought a car in pieces (it is a modified Red Devil car with a
Rotax 494) and need some parts to finish the car and build up a stockage of
good spares. So far, here is what I need:
On board fire system
Transponder system
Gauge/telemetry system for dash
I hope to find good used parts but if not can I get your recommendations on
what type of these systems to get and where best to get them?
Also, other than this site, are there other good sites that offer tech
articles and especially good classifieds for the f500 class? What about
periodicals - any good ones for f500?
Can you give me locations where I can get good guidance and parts for the
Rotax engine?
I haven't been to an SCCA event in a long time (since Sebring was still
24hrs!) but plan on trying to attend Moroso on 17 November and Sebring on
the 24th. Anyone need any free pit help in exchange for answering probably
dozens of questions?
