Are you implying that the prebuilt binaries of 0.91 are not the right
place to start looking? Are you also implying that the git repository
at factorcode is also at 0.91, and therefore also not the right place
to start looking? If the latter is what you mean, where is the right
place?

If I pull from factorcode, what's my next step in order to figure out
what 'fry' means? Do I need to build? Where do I go in order to find
what "fry" means (given that it's clearly NOT a word, since none of
the posted examples use the word 'fry').

(BTW, I am using Windows-32, but git seems to mostly work thanks to
mingw, although it's almost intolerably slow.)

I've no objection to joining the ranks of Factor developers... I've
been thinking of some things I want to try out. I just want to make
sure I'm not doing more work than I need in order to satisfy this idle
curiosity.
