After many attempts trying to solve this (these) problems by myself, i
come here to ask you since i can't findany solutions.

Trying to install fail2ab on new opensuse 42.1 , i first realized it couldn't
run since this distro is using journalctl instead of classical syslog .
Thus i installed syslog-ng and uninstalled journalctl.
And then /var/log/messages was back and the fail2ban server seemed
to start as the systemctl command said.

BTW : i s there a way to make fail2ban use journalctl ?

But the ma in problem is :
No mails were issued at start and stop of the server, as it used to be
done on previous systems.
It looks like there is a problem with the sendmail-whois action that i
selected in the jail.local file : action = %(action_mw)s

Though i don't really understand everything, i can report here the only
error i have detected in the logs . I.e. , when i run the command

systemctl status fail2ab.service

i get a line where it says :

ERROR No file(s) found for glob # sendmail-whois[name=sshd,

What shall i do to have a fail2ban up and running ?
And especially, one mail issued at every start and stop of the server ?

Thanks for your help.
