Vaishnavites are ultimately Bhagavatins--so they adhere to the View of 
God Consciousness ("GC")--consequently they will have issue with 
Badarayana, aka the Brahma sutras. Shankara blasts them for several 
fallacies in his comment, but also acknowledges what is correct about 
the GC View. In that way Shankara's exposition of GC is considered the 
definitive one (certainly from a Shankaracharya Order POV). Vaisnav's 
trying to argue from a lower View like "GC" is not only a logical 
contradiction, but a losing proposition from ultimate reality. Kinda 
funny to hear.
