I admit I didn't have much interest in this thread when it first turned up, but
on
reflection I did find something in my own experience that resonated; the
difference,
however, had to do with how I conceptualized it. That is, I did notice a
change, but at this
point I can't attribute it to "rising collective consciousness".

Collective consciousness definitely was deteriorating throughout most of last
year. I
attribute this to the war in Iraq and the bitterly divisive election campaign.
Also, in my
opinion, a growing feeling among ordinary people that nothing is working the
way it's
supposed to. In particular, there was a huge underlying fear that the election
could
degenerate into a complete failure; some people even feared martial law could
be imposed
if things got too far out of control.

My reading of the election result was that the American public was more
comfortable with
a faked election that at least looked somewhat normal than a real election that
upset the
status quo; specifically, the idea of a contested election, as in 2000, or
worse, really had
this country worried.

I began to notice the relaxation shortly after the first of the year; it
progressed noticeably
after the State of the Union message. My interpretation, once again, was that
the
APPEARANCE of normalcy was a great relief to all.

This effect extended to many countries around the world, where governments
began to
cautiously give Bush the benefit of the doubt. Some potentially good
developments were
seen in the Middle East, as well.

I believe that this corresponds with what you have observed, but as I stated
earlier, my
interpretation is different. From having observed current events for several
decades, it is
clear to me that current events and collective consciousness have seasons and
cycles just
like other phenomena. A little bit of a breather from time to time is normal
even in Kali
Yuga. However, I have seen no significant changes to the underlying structure
of things,
therefore I would expect that this breather will not last long and that more
bad times are
just around the corner.

You have connected this positive change with the installation of the Rajas. I
have reasons
of my own for doubting this, but of course, we are all entitled to our points
of view. It
seems to me that there is a pattern to Maharishi's predictions on things of
this nature: He
identifies a time in the future (evidently based on Jyotish predictions) when
things are
expected to be better, and he schedules an event around that time, the result
of which is
that the event is given credit for the improvement. It's like drawing the
target around the
arrow, so to speak.

The short summary: Yes, I agree that the atmosphere has lightened up a bit;
however, I
think it is only temporary. I rather expect things to get much worse in the
foreseeable
future, and that none of these TMO programs will be found to have had a
significant
positive effect. This, of course, will all be explained away and forgotten by
the TMO as the
next fundraiser rolls in with its attendant promises of saving the world.

If the movement proves me wrong in the coming months, I will cheerfully and
gratefully
acknowledge as much. What we are doing here is lodging our predictions.
