Yeah, generally a Shanakaracharya will not give any public demonstration of miracle-working. Rajaguru Sw. Brahmananda Saraswati was an exception--he was known to light ceremonial fires (homas) using siddhi and would physically manifest prasad for people. This is actually published in a recent dissertation on the lineage of the shankaracharyas. I have also heard it from independent sources. There are other stories as well.
