University Website Offers Podcast

The Universityâs website is now offering a series of podcasts entitled, âConsciousness â The Inside Story.â

âPodcastingâ refers to making audio files available online in a way that allows software to automatically download the files for listening at the userâs convenience.

Visitors to the website can listen to the podcasts as streaming sound using any MP3 media player. Or they can use a podcast âaggregatorâ to automatically download them to their iPod or other mobile device and listen on the go.

 See www.mum.edu/podcast

Each podcast is a 10- to 15-minute radio show that gives a taste of Consciousness-Based(SM) education. The first two podcasts are:

âExperience Changes the Brain,â Dr. Fred Travis (8:39 minutes; 7.93 MB). Over 70 percent of the connections between brain cells change every day. This podcast explains what we can do to ensure that these changes make us more creative, intelligent, and adaptable.

âWhy Is a Quantum Physicist Studying Consciousness?â Dr. John Hagelin (16:14 minutes; 14.8 MB). Excerpts from his address to the 2003 Prophets Conference in Sedona, Arizona. Dr. Hagelin explains that our universe is structured in layers of creation, and as we go deeper in nature, we find increasingly concentrated intelligence. The indivisible wholeness at the basis of all diversity is the Unified Field, which is self-interacting. The human mind has the remarkable ability to traverse finer levels of thought, to go beyond thought to the fountainhead of all activity.

Future podcasts will feature film producer David Lynch, Dr. Keith Wallace, Dr. Bevan Morris, and other University faculty.

The University would also like to produce a podcast of students answering the questions, âWhat is consciousness?â and âWhat is Consciousness-Based education?â If youâd like to participate, please contact Nita Travis at (641) 472-1600 or [EMAIL PROTECTED]
