Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I am looking for further knowledge that correlates personal enlightenment to global enlightenment. Something `meaty' please. Thank you, Jim ----Practically speaking, as poor as I am at this, is how clarity of wisdom allows one to make better decisions. Moreover one is better at pointing out the negatives of a situation prior to their coming about. For instance, a person I know was highly frustrated at his wage and he wanted to go back to the street but I gave him a lecture about how on the street he'll come down in value and get sent to jail and be useless to himself and society whereas if he just put up with the shit he's doing then his actual worth in terms of wage will steadily increase and he will be worth more in general. My goal was to cut suffering
before it started. This person listened and is still working. Now I doubt my
words really made a huge difference because this guy is on the street anyway,
though part time, and I'm sure the words didn't make any difference to the
present when he is out slingin and flippin. However, at the moment when I spoke
them the words fit the bill and pacified the tendencies in the enviroment
towards inertia and tamas and anger. That would be the effect of wisdom or
coherence wouldn't it? Especially powerful when actually expressed in our
human condition, because then very useful for life altogether.
Now if one is making coherence
then fear, hatred, ignorance, suffering and so on should lessen around one.
First in oneself and then in all that one surveys. If the opposite occurs then
one could guess that that person isn't so very enlightened. Light
dissipates dark. Around one. But the dark will always exist. There
cannot be a rainbow without shade. One works and yet, one shouldn't fight some
duality with the mind. This is why so many Movement people go whacko,
because when they experience sattva then they experience greater tamas as well.
Be without the three gunas altogether. Can't do that? Then use them wisely to
cancel each other out as there also is the transcendent.
