Nice post Vaj. But I think Nandi should relax a little. The fact is that a spirituality that sees nature as an expression of the divine will better support an environmental ethos and legal framework, and so what if some religious rituals accompany that mov't -- that does not completely undermine scientific secularism. Newton and many of the heros of the Enlightenment saw nature as a sacred expression of God and were practicing christians. How many practicing hindus are also superb engineers? I'm afraid if Nandi's hardnosed secular views hold sway then the Left in India will become as marginalized as the Left here.
