Yeah, well, maybe an oil
substitute before that, and how about moving sidewalks and hovering autos.
There's a bit to be accomplished first. 50 years? nah, tooo much ignorance
for any sort of frontal technological advance. Too many standing in the way.
Before 50 years, too much destruction. I wouldn't be surprised if we were sent
back to pretechnological society before long, and it probably is a subplot of
the right to lifer anti-genetic engineering proabstinence repent or be killed
fundie mentality that they will probably sponsor all out world war and
destruction before they would allow such machine/human interface. Though
ironically as evil always seems to justify evil, they would for sure use that
sort of technology against the evils that they list, and may eventually and soon
create such robohumans out of the previously dead just to hypocritically use
against the then protential threat, most likely the Muslim, as always. In fact,
it wouldn't be far fetched that any technology produced or imagined would first
be tested on us Americans as we have become the blemish of the world. But
rightly so, on this shiny face one pimple (Bush) and the greasy skin
beneath (His puppetmasters) have become so glaring as to beg to be given
superindustrial strength Noxema. What a bit of preemptive squeezing could have
accomplished, but alas, the face was too busy stuffing itself to notice what was
flowing in the grease ducts.
