It's interesting that Christianity tries not to remove troublesome beliefs, but replace them with an overarching belief that everything is all right. In Mark 5:36 Jesus says, "Do not fear, only believe." It takes a thorn to remove a thorn, I guess. - Patrick Gillam ---Since most religions believe in an almighty creator one is made to experience everything in a dualistic manner, to wit, I am not the creator so I will always be fallow and small. This sets up a dichotomy which makes it very easy to put off responsibility for things. When I was younger i really really wished to be 'normal' like all the other small minded narrow focussed individuals who were caught up in the game and able to believe in it. It tweaks ones moral obligation to life in general very much smaller and easy. I admired those with such a small focus, and thought that they were lucky to have been born Christian, or Jewish, or Hindu or whatever. But for us, the few, the vajraproud, we have much greater responsibilities to not crush under foot anything of which we are aware, at all. And from that responsibility comes moral weight. I could have been rich many times over with my drug connections if I had just done what everyone else does. But I cannot do those things. The point being that the more dualistic one is, the more they can lay blame for things at someone elses feet, and usually that would include God's. But not being dualistic then one has no excuses for their behavior at all. The shroud of Turin is torn away and what one finds is their own face.
