Good old John. What a trooper. The thing I find amusing is that he and
others somehow believe that inspired by a reasonably sensible presentation,
scientists, politicians or the general public (in the case of the NLP) will
then proceed to get deeply involved in the Movement's plans without soon
becoming aware of the weird side of things (which has gotten even weirder
since the demise of the NLP). I'm reminded of the professor, posing as the
Wizard of Oz, saying "don't pay any attention to that man behind the
curtain." Instead it would be John and others, if any movement plan were
really to begin to take off, saying, "pay no attention to Maharishi's praise
of Robert Mugabe and Fidel Castro, his damning of democracy, those guys in
the funny crowns and robes, the world's tallest building plan, etc." He was
just funning us. Now we've got a serious plan to create world peace. We
promise no more weird stuff. Oh yeah, it requires a billion dollars to fund
10,000 chanting Hindu boys.
