The amazing thing to me, is that these bija mantras are so powerful that westerners could be trained to impart them and that they would work so powerfully. Certainly the power does not come from us and so someone (presumably Guru Dev) empowered them, trained MMY in their use and when they were passed along to us, somehow retained their power. ---It's my contention that the feminine bijas, those who use the EE base as opposed to the masculine OH base are Shakti enlivening, and as Adiparashakti is herself Kundalini She herself empowers them. No additional human element is needed in the sense of a Guru Dev, or Maharishi. Ii am not a TM teacher, but I have taught shakti mantras to a few and had them quickly transcend. I retrained a Sri Sri Ravioli meditator and she said she transcended for the first time.
