Oh.  That was your point?  Sorry, I didn't get it,
but now that I have, I have to respectfully disagree.
Where was the money motive behind canceling the prom?
Where is the money motive behind long, flowing robes
and Burger King hats?

--Well, because you don't read or think about our posts but just respond to your own inner dialogue you wouldn't see how Maharishi destroying the Western parts of the movement will destroy business and make them all take a loss which can be used as a tax write off before he entirely dismantles his Western holdings to ship it all East. Moreover, since he obviously still would want a market for his products he still wants some movement here, but he wants it privatized and run for rich people who are willing to pay high prices for his objets d'illume.

At very best, if he's not as cynical as I say then he's killing two birds with one stone, the two birds of trying to illumine people as well as market illumination to them. But no one who has the slightest understanding of humanity or history would think that he is merely in it to enlighten the world and create peace and heaven on earth. If he did his niche market would cease. Rather, as an entrepreneur in the most extreme sense, at best if his pogroms did provide a priori results then he would keep raising the market value until it reached its peak.

Enlightenment, like fine art, only has the market value initially ascribed to it by the connoisseur. That's why it such a great biz. The original market developer like MMY gets to set the market for the future. He sets the stakes high knowing that iif it catches it will be very lucrative. If he sets it low then he gets what he asked for. Oh yes, deep laws of nature are supporting this move.

I know MMY isn't materialistic. He needs nothing. He worked hard all those years and had few pleasures. Nonsense.  he went to college to become able to make a buck for his family, and even now he is sending all the money to his family, and when he dies his family will control his huge estate.  Eexpect in the next fifty years that the Varmas and Shrivistavas rise in political importance as they transform their holdings into political power. And watch the Shakti drain.
