But I can see absolutely no reason why the Beach Boys raised money for Bush's presidential campaign by throwing fundraising concerts for him, except the fact that Bush started TM, almost certainly instructed by Mike Love. You can think otherwise, but I do not see any other reasonable conclusion, especially because Bush Sr. met Jenkins when he replaced him as envoy in China, a guy who was so enthusiastic about TM that he joined the MIU Board of Trustees.
