There was a time when it was possible to speculate about the shift in
society and its distribution of wealth when a majority of the
population would be doing TM or a large minority were enlightened -
based on spontaneous right action, right being life-enhancing and
evolutionary for everyone. Moreover take away the insecure ego and
much of the unnecessary consumerism, environmental destruction and
compulsive power hoarding, one imagined, might simply give way to
concerns for universal well-being, and more successful individual and
social action to address that. But then where was the role model for
such a transformation to be found? The TMO, MUM, Vedic City? FRom
what I read in FFL these provide examples of the WORST kind of
capitalism - exploitation of monopoly power, money laundering,
proliferation of company names and bank accounts to defraud taxes and
innocent investors and doners etc. Moreover you only count for
anything if you are a millionaire (eg the story of kids from the
Maharishi school on a visit to Holland to see MMY and he only
bothered to see the child of a millionaire..). Compared to this
Communism, Fascism and Capitalism at their virtuous best would beat
MMY's "alternative" any day!

Maybe what MMY has in mind, in place of Capitalism, is a return to
Feudalism - with Lords in robes enjoying all the riches
they "deserve" and the rest of us "peasants" too ignorant to
understand the divine "parental role" of our betters having to
content ourselves with the crumbs that come our way via Karmic drafts.
