An eclipse in jyotish is considered inauspicious and is something  
to be avoided.
That's funny. In my tradition it's believed to amplify some sadhanas  
by a hundred-fold. There's no more fun way to watch a lunar eclipse  
than to sit outside, mala in hand and enjoy it all.
