Just like they did with the first "Mac-only" iPod (within months of
its release, IIRC.) Apple realized there was money to be made selling
iPods to Windows users, and the rest is glowing financial history. 

Maybe Apple will see the light and offer a kick-ass competing OS for
standard PC's that has the stability and security of *nix with a
degree of user friendliness not found with Linux or BSD. Apple could
then focus its hardware efforts on killer notebooks and �berkewl
special edition desktops.

Wow, I had no idea. All I ever read about was the Darwin kernel that
Apple made available in a PC version.
