Hmmm... I was under the impression that all hardware plugs and card- slots for macs were always documented. Perhaps he didn't know or misunderstood your question? I have the books dating back to that period. Modem plug, you say? Its burriedin a box someplace. I recall seeing it in the original Inside macintosh series, but perhaps you're right.
