I think it's now become a matter of whether or not a new
administration and Congress can or can not - or will or will not - do
anything about the mess. 

My personal feelings are that at this point it's not promising at all.
It may be that the whole thing has to crash and start over again - or
possibly the USA as we've known it will end up being a new banana
republic police state with the rich corporate elite running the show.
I hope I'm very wrong about this.
