Which leads one to wonder: why is the series ending? B5 was originally meant to be a 5 year story arc and it was advertised that way. BSG wasn't. Are there back-room deals for a spinoff series? Did the writers get tired? Did the actors? I find it difficult to believe that the series was originally conceived to be 4 years long, but I CAN believe that the Powers That Be at the Sci Fi channel are uncomfortable with airing a first-run sucessful mainstream show because it is too expensive for them and probably over the IQ of their average viewer (who seems addicted to "sci fi original movies" so bad that Ursala LeGuinn published a webpage denouncing "Earthsea" before it was even released). Of course, maybe its not the viewer who is the relatively low-IQ person in the mix, but the produces and directors, but by gosh, the ECW moved to the sci-fi channel, and that has got to say *something* about their demographic. http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-scifiprowrestling,0,5191378.story Regardless, BSG is a great series and I'm sad to see it go. OTOH, we can obviously look forward to astute programming choices from the Sci FI producers like putting "The Sarah Jane Adventures" in a prime-time FRiday sci-fi slot simply because it is a Dr Who spinoff. For people who aren't familiar with it, The Sarah Jane Adventures is a BBC children's show that allows Elisabeth Sladen to reprise her character as the most popular Doctor Who assistant. *I* like it, but I'm a fan of good kid's TV shows. I find it hard to believe that the average ECW fan, or even the average Doctor Who fan, is going to sit through a weekly story about a bunch of middle-schoolers who save the world with the help of a middle- aged former Doctor Who assistant. It's too violent for PBS, though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sarah_Jane_Adventures > TurquoiseB wrote: > > So, is anyone else watching Season Four? > > > > >
