Sorry to hear about Satyanand passing away. He was one cool yogi. Used to teach advanced techniques. On my TTC he was sitting in front of MMY and someone asked MMY if he, Satyanand, would speak about his experiences with Guru Dev. MMY said that would be fine if we had enough time and laughed uproariously. Apparently Satyanand was quite long winded. He told the story that he thought that all yoigis and sannyassis were fakes. He talked about reading the newspaper in India and reading stories about sannyassi pick-pockets at the Dehli train station. So he wanted nothing to do with yogis. But then he said his good friend, and he seemed to be implying MMY, came to him and told him he had met a great saint and wanted Satyanand to meet him too. Satyanand said that he started shouting at his friend that all yogis and sannyassis were fakes, but that for the sake of his friend he went to meet the saint. They went to a house and had to wait for several hours. While he was waiting Satyanand said that he started thinking that if this man was really a great saint that he would know all the terrible things he had been saying. He said that he was getting more and more nervous and was just about to leave when it was indicated to him to come into the room to see Guru Dev with his friend. They went in the room and his friend started telling Guru Dev all the bad things Satyanand had been saying about saints. Satyanand said that Guru Dev just waved his hand in a dismissing gesture indicating to his friend not to talk. They sat in silence with Guru Dev for some time and then were ushered out. They had ridden bicycles to see Guru Dev so they were riding home and Satyanand's friend kept on talking and saying how great Guru Dev was. Satyanand said he had to tell his friend to be quite because he had never felt such holiness in his entire life and he wanted to continue to feel the holy darshan. Very sweet story. Was anybody there too in LaAntilla, December 1972 when he told the story at the evening meeting?

No, but I heard him tell it in Cape May and Estes Park.

When you change thread subjects, but the new subject in the beginning and the “was” after that.
