MMY is a very complex individual, leaving aside any enlightenment- issues. I can think plenty of stories that show MMY's human side. When he was staying with Mother Olson, he used to sing Vedic hymns in the shower at 5AM, according to her book. He didn't like pets very much, so whenever her cat tried to jump in his lap, he'd bap it gently on the head with one of his traditional long-stemmed roses to distract it. Doug Henning says that the first time he met MMY was when they both happened to be in the airport at the same time. He managed to push his way to the frontof the crowd to watch him go past and apparently someone recognized Doug because he suddenly was asked to join MMYin his limo. Doug said that he sat there all excited because he was sitting with "the wisest man in the world" and finally got enough nerve to ask "Maharishi, is there really REAL magic in the world?" MMY laughed, leaned forward and said "Of course. Its right here" as he tapped Doug on the forehead. He then invited Doug to be the first non-TM teacher to learn the Sidhis. During my SIdhis course, we had a bunch of kids finishing their flying block. The Administrators rearranged everyone else's sleeping arrangements so that all the kids wouldbe in the same pod because MMY was taking "personal interest" in their progress. According to the kids, MMY had instructed the Administrators to fulfill every whim of the kids, so on the previous sidhis block for the kids, one of them started get homesick so the Administrators (not their assistants) personally brought hot chocolate for them to drink. Etc. Volunteering to watch over the kids and then turning them loose to play soccer with him certainly seems consistent with THOSE stories, doesn't it?
