Sounds a lot like what happened with Sri Chinmoy, Swami Shyam, and Muktananda and, I guess, about a dozen other gurus. But I take issue with your observation, Rick, when you wrote: "Of course, much as we know from TM, there is a giant schism." I see the parallel you are attempting to make but if there is a schism in the TMO, it is s schism between true believer and true believer. It affects not an iota people such as myself who actually do the TM Program, which is NOT affected by the sordid revelations of what gurus do on their own free time...TM will still work regardless. With TM, true believers, by definition, have to be off the program to BE true believers. As such, that is the schism right there: a practitioner of the TM Program is far removed from the true believers. You, Rick, are/were a "True Believer" TMer and NOT a practitioner of the TM Program. If you were you wouldn't have been so affected by the rumours and tales that the alleged paramours of MMY fed you because that is what prompted your quitting your practise of TM, as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Had you NOT been a True Believer, you would have snickered, wished Maharishi got as much free and STD-safe poontang as his yoni could stand, and you would have gone on with your life and your regular TM Program practise without being so traumatized by having your guru exposed. There's no crying in baseball and there's no gurus in TM.
