A cookie is a kilobyte or less of plain text data. Any computer that
would slow down to any appreciable degree from handling a cookie
would take minutes to decompress and display the .JPG images on a web
page. Cookies are a standard feature of the HTTP protocol and are
used by a vast number of web sites. The biggest negative about
cookies is that ad banner sites use them to track user activity, but
any good spyware ap will defeat that.
