My original intro to all this karma stuff was from my training in Jyotish. Essentially your Jyotish chart is your karmic manifestation. Points of manifestation are "confluences" in your chart. If you visit someone like Yogi Karve, that's what he's grokking, the karmic potentials in your subtle bodies. Another way of grokking your own karma is through visionary experiences...they cannot occur without a *cause*. This is one of the reasons many yogis will seclude themselves in caves or total darkness. Ever read Dr. John Lilly's autobiog? He was doing the same thing with a float tank.
