From what I've read, Obama is a progressive. Some informants just went ape-shit posting sexist comments about Gov. Palin - that's about it. The independent parties got screwed over, again. Actually, Shemp was the one who first requested that the posting limit be raised during election week, and as you know, he's not a lefty. He just felt, and some others agreed, that we needed more room for discussion during that week.
