I don't know. I remember when TM was a lot bigger and people were still considerably alienated by the whole 'mini-Hinduism' aspect of it. There doesn't appear to be a way to package it without preserving its purity, which means the ceremony with Guru Dev. There appears to be a big barrier there with regard to western thinking, that would be difficult to overcome. I am not negating mistakes that have been made in possibly making it more available, just making the point that even if the marketing and availability of 'the product' had been flawless, significant opposition would've been encountered once people were exposed to the eastern aspects of the practice.
