Sal , no,  the first year of the draft I was eligible for, they had gone to a lottery system and my number was 350 something. The military only went  to 200 something that year. I never came close to being inducted through the lottery system and the war was over as well as the draft a short time later. I think I was about 19 when the war ended. Sal, I also think I know where you are going with this. I never claimed to be a hero or run for office claiming  I was one, either. When you make such claims, you better be able to back them up because you come under the eye of very close scrutiny, especially when running for the highest office in the land.
