I understand your response, but just to provide a different perspective, the possibility of the tech- nique "stopping working" is IMO inextricably bound to the nature of the TM technique; that is, effort- lessness. If, say, one were practicing a technique based on focus/concentration, the situation never arises, because there is no effortlessness to "lose" or lose track of, or to "stop working." I'm *not* saying that other techniques are "better," merely that assumptions are the killer; in whatever context one has them...
