The way that I understood the Sharia court to work as a result of Vaj's post is that they would have the force of law. Is that not correct? If it is correct then, certainly, that would be bypassing the current court system? Of course, if the Sharia court is only for civil matters and people freely enter into a binding sort of agreement -- the way people do with arbitrators -- then, yes, it would just be an extension of a system that already is in place in America.
