Okay, that's how the WORD "guffaw" is pronounced but I don't think that's how a guffaw is manifested. It's like the word "snicker": I know how to spell and pronounce "snicker" but I don't think the sound of my pronouncing "snicker" is now a snicker actually sounds (or looks)!
