Nope. Colbert himself (the person, not the actor) probably likes Patel's ideas, but he sure didn't do him any favors with that interview. You have to be both very laid-back and very quick--very in-the-moment and focused--to do yourself justice with Colbert. Rare combo, and I don't have the sense Patel makes the grade. I'll bet Patel does show up on Charlie Rose before too long, though. Rose's various tics drive me nuts (I had a gig some time ago transcribing his shows for a year or two), but he's really good at drawing people out.
